Our strengths

EUROCORD has established an international cord blood  transplantation registry, which led to major advances in the field. The database and the expertise in performing retrospective and prospective studies have allowed crucial developments in clinical use of cord blood cells.

EUROCORD collaborates with Agence de Biomedicine by validation of data and sending statistical analysis of the transplants performed with their respective units. Eurocord registry based analysis has developed standards,  criteria for donor selection and protocols for umbilical cord blood transplantation, as well as determined prognostic factors for main outcomes.

EUROCORD has experience in electronic data exchange, statistical analyses, electronic communication with worldwide transplant centers and cord blood banks.

EUROCORD is involved in drawing up new protocols for using stem cells in new non-hematological indications, such as autism.

EUROCORD has strong relations with many French and international organizations including the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), Société Francophone de Greffe de Moelle et de Thérapie Cellulaire (SFGM-TC), World Bone Marrow Transplant (WBMT), Netcord, Center for International Blood and  Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR), National Bone Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) and Eastern Mediterranean Blood and Marrow Transplantation group (EMBMT).

MONACORD, the International Sickle Cell Disease Observatory, promotes research studies on Sickle Cell Disease in Scientific Center of Monaco (CSM, Principality of Monaco).

MONACORD occupies a well recognized place within the CSM for its expertise in the management of registries, collection of clinical data, statistical analysis and writing of scientific articles.

MONACORD has recognized national and international relations, in particular privileged relations with developing countries such as Brazil, Africa and the Middle East, which have allowed the creation of an international sickle cell anemia network. Several Monacord research projects on sickle cell disease have greatly improved knowledge and treatment of this disease.

The team Eurocord / Monacord has an excellent scientific productivity (Prof E. Gluckman: about 15 publications per year, H-index 131).
